Hi, I had speakup working on karmic, but had to reinstall karmic today. I installed speakup the same as before and it works fine except for one thing. If I edit the modules file to start speakup when the system loads I get no sound in gnome. I hear speakup like before, but then I get no login sound and no Orca if I login to the gnome desktop. But speakup works fine if I enter the console. Does anyone know what might be causing this. I tried reconfiguring speech-dispatcher, and took the default settings. But that didn't solve the problem.
