Public bug reported: Testing webbrowser-app with oxide 1.20.4 on desktop, dailymotion.com videos don't play (only display a black rectangle in place of the actual video). They do work on mobile devices.
I’m seeing the following in the app's log: [WARNING:flash/platform/pepper/pep_module.cpp(63)] SANDBOXED Vector smash protection is enabled. So it appears that dailymotion is serving a flash video player instead of an HTML5 video. A simple UA override appears to do the trick. ** Affects: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Assignee: Olivier Tilloy (osomon) Status: In Progress ** Tags: ua-override ** Changed in: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Olivier Tilloy (osomon) ** Changed in: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Tags added: ua-override -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Apps bug tracking, which is subscribed to webbrowser-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1662826 Title: Videos don't play on dailymotion.com on desktop Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: Testing webbrowser-app with oxide 1.20.4 on desktop, dailymotion.com videos don't play (only display a black rectangle in place of the actual video).
