Hello everybody, after talking to Michael Hall and David Planella it turns out that quite a bunch of participants in the app contest make use of C++ because QML/JS-only does not cut it. Some of the apps are looking great and are stuff we'd love to have in the software store.
As far as I can see there are different strands of conversation which need to get weaved together: - software store + app scope: store and display information about which architecture and hardware is required - SDK + foundations: cross-compiling, testing, deploying and storage of compiled code - anything else? AFAICS we have the following blueprints to discuss this: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/community-1308-app-story-hardware-requirements https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/foundations-1308-arch-specific-click-pkgs https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/community-1308-qml-extensions Is this all we need to tackle this topic? Shall we schedule a call next week to figure out the touching points between teams and projects and to put together a time-line for this?
