Very nice, much improvement, I've still done some tweaks locally to get
a mor compact look, but i am getting weir behavior with entries
appearing squared and with no borders. Tried Night Impression without my
tweaks but this stills happens. Any idea why?
Other than that it's really good, but i really dont like the widgets
being so huge on a 1024x768 resolution, that's why i tweaked it. I dont
quite like the scrollbar, tje slider seems to have no limits, it's flat,
not attractive, i personally have enabled coloring of the slider,
improves the look but colour should be changed distinct itself from the
rest of the scrollbar.
Task list looks really awful, maybe it's that i got used to xfce and the
"Use Flat Buttons" option, would be great on gnome, anyway, something
should be done with task list, this is what i most dislike.
Another thing, Selection color in Evolution doesn't seem to work well,
when selecting a message from the message panel the selection is
transparent, when the evolution looses focus the selection now becomes
visible. Selection in folder panel works right though.
Keep up the good work

Sebastian

Subject: [ubuntu-art] 10.10 Impression GTK Themes
Date: Sun, 4 Jul 2010 18:21:32 -0700 (PDT)

Hello Everyone,

I'm pleased to announce the availability of the Alpha release of the
Impression and Night Impression 10.10 GTK themes for Maverick Meerkat.

These themes may be tested with either Maverick or Lucid with the latest
Murrine theme engine is installed.

Packages are available from the
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Maverick/ImpressionGtkThemes Ubuntu
Wiki . Screen shots may be viewed at

Enhanced Metacity Theme

Metacity code improvements should speed execution and the improved window
control buttons offer simplicity in design with an intuitive approach to
operation.

Re-designed GTK

Many improvements are available from enhancements made to the Murrine GTK
engine providing a level of presentation second to none.

The Impression series uses a gradient scroll bar and progress bar trough
introduced by the Ambiance and Radiance themes. Muted, not bold; scroll bars
are available but not in the way.

Note book tabs are themed to provide a higher level of focus to the selected
tab. Clicking a tab presents an illusion of movement as the selected tab
becomes bright and the others fall to the shadows.

Tool bars maintain a hint of shading to provide a measured amount of depth
to the presentation.

Scale controls follow the same design philosophy as scroll bars as the
slider control button is muted until needed.

Finally, the palette of Impression is the traditional warm gray splashed
with Orange and the palette of Night Impression is a cool gray accentuated
with Aubergine.

Vibrant and exciting these themes deliver a powerful intuitive user
experience and a consistent Ubuntu look and feel.

Enjoy!
