This in turn caused the break up of a team for a university assignment, which also caused me to fail that assignment, and caused me to fail the whole unit (by just four marks!) and meant I had to spend another semester at university! Moral of the story: Use SpamAssassin instead; it doesn't generate return traffic and it works extremely well to stop spam.
