Hi I have a simple Samsung A-412 handset, and this when connected via the supplied USB or connected via blue tooth acts as a 3G modem! However, make sure to know exactly what data rates you will be paying as you could be in for a rather rude shock! my mobile is with Telstra, and they sure know how to charge on their 3g service please take care with this as you certainly don't wish to get a bill you may not be able to afford!
Also some phones just work, some fully work, and others just don't! it is still rather hit'n'miss...
