Hi,

I have been using the easy-to-use and reliable Soundjuicer a lot to rip
my CDs to FLAC (in Lucid Lynx), but would like to rip something directly
to mp3. Can't see mp3 in the preferences options for Soundjuicer or
Sound Converter.

Where do I go to enable the encoder?

In Synaptic I see 'LAME', but am not sure which option to install (just
'front-end' or 'shared libraries' or the other things listed there?)

On another webpage I have seen mention of installing 'restricted extras'
from Synaptic - is that it?

The computer already plays mp3s OK.

Thanks,

Dave
