jorno, it happens because of Adobe licensing restrictions and uploading conventions. Also, the design of the flashplugin-nonfree-installer is perhaps overtly cautious; when it no longer gets the download it expected, it will refuse to continue. If we could convince Adobe to not reuse the same file name when uploading a new version, this approach would have more merit (albeit result in an older version of the player being installed, even if a newer version with security fixes were available). However, this old, closed bug report is not the place to discuss such things. Note also that this bug is marked as a duplicate, but in any event, you are commenting on the problem as it was in Feisty. If you are installing on a fresh system, I would assume you are installing Gutsy. For the record, the current open bug report for this issue in Gutsy seems to be bug 173890; however, that bug should only be used to discuss possible solutions at this point. It does contain some hints regarding workarounds if you urgently need one. -- flashplugin-nonfree won't install; please update flashplugin-nonfree with MD5 sum of latest Adobe Flash package https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/128849 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Backporters, which is a subscriber of a duplicate bug (via bug 125986). -- ubuntu-backports mailing list ubuntu-backports@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports
