I had considered either doing a compile from source, or even just installing all the updated packages manually and seeing if that worked. But I wondered how the new version would react to seeing the old database - does the new mythbackend automatically revise the database upon first run, or is there some other step required? Cheers, DJK BTW did you ever have stability problems with the backend crashing? If so, I'd be interested to see if that improves with the new version. Not everyone's does, but mine crashes regularly enough for me to do something about it, and then I was encouraged to share the 'solution'.
