Hi!

A I found a way to install hplip 3.10.9 to an Ubuntu 10.04
First i purged and then installed hplip and sane (and also the related) 
packages, to have they clean.
Than I used the .run installer from the hplip.

After that, i had to set up my printer with hp-setup utility, and then
everything works fine.

That was the workaround. You may can make a package, which is easier to
do this.
