Hello all Could you please suggest me a book [that is available in Nilkhet or on the Internet] that will teach me Ubuntu/Linux starting from the basics to some advanced level?
The problem is, I am using Ubuntu, doing many things using the GUI and terminal without actually knowing them in depth. For example, I have installed Matlab using command line, following a tutorial. From that I came to know that "sh" is needed for running "shell scripts". But I do not actually know what a shell script is. Similarly, I have installed java and created symbolic links for java plug-ins for Matlab and Firefox, but all i did was just to follow some tutorial on the net. I know I must write "sudo -i" to be the root, but i don't know what the "-i" stands for. But I want to Learn linux thoroughly, starting from basic file operations in both CLI and GUI to advanced and system integrated tasks. Can you please help me?
