আমি লিনাক্সে নতুন। যতোদূর জানি, উবুন্টুতে গনোম এবং কুবুন্টুতে কেডিই ব্যবহার করা হয়। আমি প্রথমে উবুন্টু ব্যবহার করলেও পরে ডেস্কটপ দেখে কুবুন্টু ব্যবহার করা শুরু করি, কিন্তু এই দুটোর পার্থক্য সম্পর্কে খুব একটা জানি না। কাজটা ভালো করলাম, না খারাপ- তাও জানি না। তবে আপাতত ভালোই লাগছে। গত ক'দিনের এই ইমেইলালোচনায় কিছু নতুন শব্দের সাথে পরিচিত হলাম। ভালোই হলো- এগুলো সম্পর্কে জানতে হবে।

Gnome is ageing and the developers also want to catch up. They are planning for Gnome 3 as well. If you try to follow those discussions, you'll find they are accepting many ideas from KDE4.
