Binary package hint: gdebi I downloaded a DEB file for davmail from http://sourceforge.net/projects/davmail/files/ , and chose "open with..." GDebi , from the Firefox download dialog. When GDebi opened, O chose "Install", then entered my password at the gksu prompt. GDebi then reappeared, started the installation and then crashed and returned to the package information dialog. Clicking on the "Install" button again only resulted in another crash.
