Hi, sorry for the delayed reply. The failure is intermittent, not on every resume.
Today (2026-10-16), the kernel journal shows three earlier deep- suspend/resume cycles completing without the controller dying (resumes at 10:49:54, 11:26:12 and 12:23:19 CEST). The next cycle entered deep suspend at 13:05:17 and failed on resume at 13:13:24 CEST. These were normal use, not a controlled test with identical docking conditions. At the failed resume, the journal again reported: xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: xHCI host not responding to stop endpoint command xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: xHCI host controller not responding, assume dead xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: HC died; cleaning up usb 1-4.4.4: PM: failed to resume async: error -22 Afterwards, lsusb showed only the two root hubs and the dock USB devices were unavailable. Unbinding and rebinding 0000:00:14.0 to xhci_hcd, with fprintd stopped beforehand and restarted afterwards, restored USB without rebooting. I confirmed that the peripherals work again. Regarding the first occurrence: September 24 is a documented occurrence, but I cannot reliably establish that it was the first ever. I have not yet performed a controlled comparison with and without the dock. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2168830 Title: Intel Cannon Point-LP xHCI controller dies on resume from deep suspend on Lenovo ThinkPad L490 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2168830/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
