The fix for this is now upstream. GPIO 11 of AMDI0030 is the camera power enable. The BIOS drives it high, but it is also listed in _AEI, so gpiolib-acpi claims it as an interrupt input and the camera loses power.
Upstream DMI quirk (ANV16S-41, family "Acer Nitro V 16S AI"), applied to the GPIO fixes tree: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/andy/linux-gpio-intel.git/commit/?id=6da1f3437435c82eaa15b121022474bb358ffe20 A follow-up patch for the Nitro AN16S-61 (family "Acer Nitro 16S AI", same pin) is under review: https://lore.kernel.org/all/[email protected]/ Until it reaches the Ubuntu kernel, the workaround is the boot parameter gpiolib_acpi.ignore_interrupt=AMDI0030:00@11, followed by a full power-off. There is a script that adds it for GRUB and Limine: https://github.com/abduvaliy-engineer/acer-nitro-anv16s-camera-fix It would be great if the Ubuntu kernel team could pick up 6da1f3437435 for the HWE kernels. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2164574 Title: Built-in camera never enumerates on the USB bus on Acer Nitro ANV16S-41 (port powered, no device) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-7.0/+bug/2164574/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
