Hi Ross, Thank you for your help! Your ACPI suggestion resolved the issue. Here are the steps that worked on my HP Spectre x360 with Intel AX201 Bluetooth (`8087:0026`).
**1. Install and load the ACPI module:** ```bash sudo apt update sudo apt install acpi-call-dkms sudo modprobe acpi_call ``` **2. Check the initial Bluetooth radio state:** ```bash echo '\_SB.GBTR' | sudo tee /proc/acpi/call sudo cat /proc/acpi/call ``` Initially, this returned `0x1`, and Bluetooth was not detected. **3. Enable Bluetooth through ACPI:** ```bash echo '\_SB.BTRK 0x0' | sudo tee /proc/acpi/call sudo cat /proc/acpi/call ``` This immediately restored the Bluetooth adapter. Interestingly, `BTRK 0x1` disabled it again, while `BTRK 0x0` consistently restored it. **4. Verify the result:** ```bash lsusb | grep '8087:0026' bluetoothctl list bluetoothctl show ``` The adapter appeared, its firmware loaded successfully, and the controller reported `Powered: yes`. **5. Make the workaround persistent:** I created a systemd service: ```bash sudo tee /etc/systemd/system/hp-bluetooth-fix.service > /dev/null <<'EOF' [Unit] Description=Initialize HP Spectre Bluetooth radio via ACPI After=systemd-modules-load.service Before=bluetooth.service [Service] Type=oneshot ExecStartPre=/usr/sbin/modprobe acpi_call ExecStart=/bin/sh -c 'echo "\\_SB.BTRK 0x0" > /proc/acpi/call' RemainAfterExit=yes [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target EOF ``` Then enabled it: ```bash sudo systemctl daemon-reload sudo systemctl enable hp-bluetooth-fix.service ``` **Bluetooth remained available after reboot.** Hopefully, these steps will help others experiencing the same issue on HP Spectre laptops.
