Nuked my machine to install with LUKS. Fully patched. Sound is now stable. No drop outs. LUKS made no difference but some new patches probably fixed something.
Chrome keeps Awe Snap! on standard html pages, plus on YouTube. I was brought to a login screen twice inside the time to play one 40 min video. Journalctl shows nothing.
