Public bug reported:

My Dell XPS 15 9500 has very weak bass from its internal speakers on Ubuntu
26.04.1, kernel 7.0.0-38-generic.
Audio codec: Realtek ALC289, subsystem ID 1028:097d.
The Bass Speaker Playback Switch is enabled, and the ALSA speaker and master
volumes are at maximum. The codec's node 0x17 has an initial pin configuration
of 0x411111f0 (N/A), while its driver pin configuration is 0x90170130.
An ALSA mailing-list report discusses this exact hardware ID and proposes a
Dell XPS 15 9500-specific fixup that routes node 0x17 to DAC1 and configures
its pin as 0x90170130. The report says this enabled all four speakers, but the
proposed complete fix does not appear in my installed kernel source.
Could the kernel team assess whether this fix is appropriate for Ubuntu?
