Public bug reported:
This bug has been seen on two different machines (One AMD and one Intel
N100) running Ubuntu Cinnamon 24.04 and also 26.04. When rebooting the
machine, the machine will hang on boot and newer show the login screen.
Sometimes I could press escape to show the boot log. Then it showed
following errors:
set_capacity_and_notify: 16 callbacks suppressed
kauditd_printk_skb: 182 callbacks suppressed
[FAILED] Failed to start lightdm.service
This failure happens with initramfs-tools and dracut.
I found following workarounds:
* boot without "spash"
* build the dracut initrd with drm instead of simpledrm
