I can confirm the problem. I've installed a new dapper and sound within kde won't work. This is especially annoying as amarok won't play anything... :-(
Xmms does work, after killing artsd of course. According to lspci i`ve got the following audio chip (although i do not think the problem is here): Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq 5880 AudioPCI (rev 02) I'm using alsa as interface to the soundcard... Is there a way i can provide any helpful information?
