Public bug reported:
I tried to install the package from synaptic and it didn't work. The
error is
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/gtkglareamm-dev_1.1.1-7.1_i386.deb: trying
to overwrite `/usr/lib/gdkgl.o', which is also in package gtkglarea5-dev
Now, trying to compile the program also causes problems, it says that

*** that the run-time linker is not finding GTK-- or finding the wrong
*** version of GTK--. If it is not finding GTK--, you'll need to set your

*** is required on your system

*** If you have an old version installed, it is best to remove it, although
*** you may also be able to get things to work by modifying LD_LIBRARY_PATH
