Oops, forgot to restart CUPS. Done...

Well, I stopped CUPS entirely, made sure the change was in the file
and restarted CUPS. I see the following message in
/var/log/cups/error_log:

E [17/Jun/2006:18:30:29 -0600] Unable to open output file
"file:///dev/usblp0" - No such file or directory.

$ ls -l /dev/usblp0
ls: /dev/usblp0: No such file or directory

However,
$ ls -l /dev/usb/lp0
crw-rw---- 1 root lp 180, 0 Apr  1  2005 /dev/usb/lp0

So I updated printers.conf and restarted CUPS. This shows up in the
error_log:

E [17/Jun/2006:18:33:41 -0600] Unable to open output file
"file:///dev/usb/lp0" - No such device.

I tried using what I had in the original from my Breezy install,
usb://Samsung/ML1740, but that doesn't seem to be recognized either,
but at least CUPS starts up... not that the printer is working yet.

I can't even begin to express how frustrating this is. My printer was
working flawlessly in Breezy for many months, even working as a
network printer to my Windows systems. While I need this working again
ASAP (required for some of the work I do), I can't spend all night
banging my head on the wall about it. Something was broken between
package versions and it needs to be fixed.
