I tried to install Ubuntu 6.06 on the same laptop (where previously v 5
was installed successfully, including the wireless network card), but
after a couple of hours stumbling around with the partitioner (guided or
manually) I decided to quit trying. The partitioner (incredibly slow)
could not find partitions in the first place. Then I used Fedora 5 to
partition the disk (20 G, with 11 G Windows 2000) , and reinstalled
Ubuntu again. Formatting the disk stopped at 15%, and quit with errors.

So, very unfortunately, I am not able te retest the ndiswrapper on
Ubuntu. I guess I'll have to wait for the next release.

Installing from a live CD is a cool idea, but in practice it only works
under very specific conditions, so it seems.
