Public bug reported: Binary package hint: alien
Trying to install an rpm for i386 on an amd64 ubuntu, I get the following error: dpkg-gencontrol: error: current build architecture amd64 does not appear in package's list (i386) Since the ia32-libs are installed, the application will run just fine once it's installed. I think this is true for most i386 rpm packages that one might want to install on the amd64 architecture. A command line parameter for changing the architecture of the resulting .deb would be very useful for this case. ** Affects: alien (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Alien can't install i386 rpm packages on amd64 https://launchpad.net/bugs/50551 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
