Public bug reported:

When installing Kubuntu (Dapper) on my system, the machine freezes when
it says it's "Loading module 'ide-floppy'". I had top running at the
time and the top processes were hald, udevd, and ubiquity.

The installation freezes in the same place every time. Also, since the
system freezes, I can't get any log files.

Floppy drive is a Sony.
Motherboard:ECS-P4S5MG SiS 651 & SiS 962L chipset
P4 533MHz 2 PCI slots, 1 AMR slot
support both DDR and SDRAM /LAN/Video/Sound

This isn't much to go on, but I don't know what other information to
provide.
