That work around doesn't resolve the bigger issue which is that citrix misbehaves badly under compiz AS WELL AS under metacity. Set up seamless windows on a desktop and then switch to another destkop. This completely messes up the window positioning of the citrix clients, sometimes even as far as the seamless windows following to the highlighted desktop. Going back to the original desktop and the seamless windows (under metacity) are bunched together and in incorrect positions. Under Compiz, switching causes the seamless citrix windows to crash forcing a restart to the citrix session.
The quoted post was to indicate that the gui problems are at least acknowledged by citrix to be an issue with the window managers. After having tested with Intrepid Ibex and the newer version of compiz as well as testing via hardy and the newer version of compiz, there has been no change or resolution to this issue. The ONLY work around is to set up the seamless session(s) in their own windowed environments. (read: not seamless.) Currently, citrix is barely usable under linux/ubuntu and needs looking at badly. There are way to many corporate environments that DEPEND on smooth citrix operation for this to be "just another issue". If Ubuntu wishes to be taken seriously as a corporate desktop environment, then these citrix issues MUST get looked at and resolved. Whether this is upstream, or dealt with in conjunction with Compiz/Citrix, it needs looking at. -- switching compiz viewports causes citrix ica client to be lost https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156541 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
