Check out my final post on this link. This has basically become my final fix and I haven't had the problem since.
Cheers. ---------[ Received Mail Content ]---------- Subject : [Bug 219998] Re: Discoloration in Cheese webcam ouput on Dell m1330 Date : Mon, 08 Sep 2008 11:11:46 -0000 From : Dendino <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To : [EMAIL PROTECTED] I have the same problem too on a dell inspiron 1520. I didn't know totem was the cause of this trouble, I've checked and it is indeed! Any news on how to fix this? ** Changed in: cheese (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- Discoloration in Cheese webcam ouput on Dell m1330 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219998 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “cheese” source package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: cheese 1) Ubuntu 7.10 on a Dell M1330 laptop with integrated webcam 2) Cheese 0.2.3-0ubuntu1 3) I expected the webcam video output to remain normal. 4) I've noticed the webcam video output in Cheese becomes discolored after Totem is opened. This is how I noticed: I have Cheese running with normal webcam video output. I open Totem and the video output immediately takes on a green/purple hue. This doesn't go away until the computer is restarted. The webcam video output is also discolored in Skype. However, the webcam video output is not discolored in Ekiga. I've also noticed that if I take pictures with Cheese, the resulting JPEG does not exhibit the discoloration, though they are the wrong aspect ratio (352 by 288). Perhaps this has something to do with NTSC vs. PAL signals? -- Discoloration in Cheese webcam ouput on Dell m1330 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219998 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
