Doesn't the downloaded software have any information about the license in it.
Please do not cancel the project just because the license information is not (yet) known. If it depends on the information, then leave it as not completed. Cancellation of the project should only happen when the license conditions are found to be unsatisfactory. Cancellation should not happen when it is not known if the license is unsatisfactory or not. Please re-instate the project, to some sort of on-hold condition. Or get in touch with the developer and ask them for the license information, (and suggest they put the information on their web site and source code also).
