In the latest version of the kernel, there is a new module named hp-dmi
that should handle your radio-enable/disable button; however, I have no
way to test it.

The new module will be in linux-2.6.27-3.4, which has not yet hit the
repositories. When it does, install it. After rebooting, you will need
to check that hp-dmi appears in your lsmod listing. If not, you will
need a 'sudo modprobe hp-dmi' command.

It is likely that the version of b43legacy loaded with 2.6.27-3.4 will
have a bug that keeps the rate at 1 Mbs, but the fix is in the pipeline.
