Hello, A receipt request is indeed sent, but Evolution cannot force the remote email client to act on it. In fact, most of the times old hands will *disable* read receipts (I certainly do), for a variety of reasons --mine is simply to disable social engineering attempts; even more, in my case, I rarely OPEN an email -- I preview it, and act on it if necessary.
Pretty much all email clients I have seen, and used, offer an option to disable read receipts. It is highly probable the other email client has been configured for that. I will keep this bug open for a while, but this is almost certainly not a bug. Please do not hesitate in adding more comments or data if you are still in doubt, or do not agree with me. ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New => Incomplete -- Read Receipts: Followed instructions, no receipt asked for from recipient.
