Same here: With feisty I had my rt61 (working with ndiswrapper; rt61pci really
never worked for me) manually configured to automatically be brought up and
connect to my wifi network.
Now with intrepid (also using ndiswrapper; I blacklisted rt61pci), on bootup
the interface doesn't connect. However I've managed a workaround which consist
in doing the following:

rmmod ndiswrapper
modprobe ndiswrapper
/etc/init.d/networking restart

(Obviously, all of them with sudo)

On the /etc/init.d/networking restart it firstly appears as it could not
connect (messages with interval log), but then it connects.

Sorry for not explaining more in detail. I'm currently not at this
machine, but I will add logs and other info required when I get home.

By the way, I can tell I'm running 2.6.27-3 generic.
