I wouldn't be too sure of that, because "regular" users probably got their 
computer installed by a "non-regular" user.  :)
However, it would also be nice to avoid possible hazzle for skilled users - 
especially breaking something that used to work previously.

This error is very likely to go unnoticed until someone wants to burn a
CD and is in a hurry.
