Public bug reported:

Affected versions: Hardy/Intrepid (x86)

When updating the system with update-manager the download speed is about
50kBit, which is too slow for 16MBit DSL.
When i create heavy I/O load on the harddrive by running baobab for "/", the
download speed increases more than tenfold.
Taking away the load lets the download speed drop again.

I tested this during upgrade from hardy to intrepid (update-manager -d) and
with intrepid updating to the latest packages.
This is an Intel ICH7 chipset notebook with a Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10) wired network adapter.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

Download speed depends on harddisk activity (?!?)
