I think I can add to this bug instead of reporting a new one. I'm having Sam's problem and more:
Whenever a window or menu overlaps the window where a video is being displayed, I can see a blue halo around the window or dialog box instead of the shadow created by the window decorator, either Compiz or Metacity. This happens with any video player. I have tried VLC, Totem and Realplayer. In Totem the halo is black, not blue. When I capture the screen while a video is playing, I get no still image of the video in the screenshot, but a transparent area that turns blue when I move it outside the area of the video that's being played. I switched to a KDE session (without Compiz installed) and had the same problem. I remember having this problem in Dapper Drake, when I didn't even have Compiz installed, but I didn't have this problem in Gutsy. I ran Gutsy from a Live CD, and everything worked well. No problem with screenshots there. My PC is a Compaq Presario c701la, Intel Celeron processor, I'm enclosing pictures in a zip file: Pic 01: Blue halo around menu Pic 02: Compiz fire particles turn into blue spots on the video area Pic 03: Black halo around menus with Totem Pic 04: Transparent square instead of video still in screenshot Pic 05: Transparent square turns blue Pic 06: No problem with screenshots in Gutsy ** Attachment added: "Pics.zip" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17621924/Pics.zip -- totem player video does not move with window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
