just to clarify my previous comment, and update it in light of further testing. I'm running a wifi card with ath9k drivers. I'm able to connect to my wireless router without a hitch (so it seems). Obtaining an ipaddress is a problem. dhclient fails on both -2 and -3 nm-applet (network-manager?) succeeds on -2 but fails on -3 wicd succeeds on both -2 and -3.
