Those options are available in the System menu, right. I took my time thinking 
about it before opening a new Bug. My point is:
Either the button on the Panel gives Access to ALL Options concerning logon, 
user switching and machine shutdown or we remove unneccessary Trash off the 
Gnome Panel, that would then mean that the whole Button is removed. The current 
setup is inconsequent regarding this.
In addition, when using Ubuntu as a Desktop, one needs Shutdown, 
Suspend-to-Disk and Hibernate more often than Switch-User, so it would be more 
user-friendly to get those options with fewer clicks.
