Public bug reported: Using Kubuntu here. Steps to reproduce:
1. Check your brightness setting in power manager (e.g. 100%) 2. Wait some time for powersave to blank the screen, or close the lid (suspend/hibernate must be disabled). 3. Awake the screen, now the LCD brightness is very dim. 4. Power manager still reports a brightness of 100% 5. Move the brightness slider in power manager, or use the Fn-F7 shortcut; brightness will jump to the given setting. It happens both on battery and plugged in, in a first boot without having suspended/hibernated previously, every time. Laptop is a toshiba satellite u200. Please advise on what system information to report. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release: ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [toshiba laptop][hardy] brightness not honored after screen blank https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272484 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
