This bug causes the user to lose his graphics upon reboot. After the upgrade, the packages appear to be installed but the nvidia module is not built. When the computer restarts there will either be VESA graphics or failsafe graphics.
The workaround for the user is to apt-get install --reinstall nvidia- glx-177.
