You don't have to nominate it for the current development version. The
nominations are for backporting released fixes (see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates). And a developer will
assign it to himself when he is working on it.

Is this still an issue in Intrepid Alpha 6?

If there is a patch that is confirmed to fix the issue and to not cause
regressions for other people, please prepare a debdiff and subscribe
ubuntu-main-sponsors when it's ready.
