Hi, Running Edgy Eft (recently dist-upgraded from Dapper Drake), the "Hardware:Display" entry in the "systemsettings"-tool is missing on my computer, too.
As far as I can remember, before one of the most recent updates, it worked. When invoking "kcontrol" from a shell, the according "Display" entry also isn't present any more. Trying "kcmshell kcmdisplay" produces: " kcmshell (kdelibs): WARNING: Could not find module 'kcmdisplay' ". Maybe it has something to do with the wrong compiling order as stated in this comment from http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-core-devel&m=94137207702570&w=2 : "Kcmdiplay now depends on a library from kdesktop directory. But kdesktop comes AFTER kcmdisplay in order of compilation. We'd better switch it." For those proficient in german, here is a short discussion on the .de Ubuntuusers message board: http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/41473/#404393 My Edgy Eft system: "kdesktop --version": > Qt: 3.3.6 > KDE: 3.5.5 > KDesktop: 3.5.5 "dpkg -p kdebase": > Architecture: all > Version: 4:3.5.5-0ubuntu3 > [...] -- Update broke kubuntu monitor power control https://launchpad.net/bugs/37165 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
