Public bug reported:

I use a HP nc6400 laptop. When installing Edgy, the only X driver that
was usable was the vesa driver. When trying the ati driver, X would not
start (no screens). After installing the fglrx driver it worked. fglrx
identified the video adapter as such:

(WW) fglrx: More than one matching Device section for instances
(BusID: PCI:1:0:0) found: ATI Technologies, Mobility Radeon X1300
(--) Chipset MOBILITY RADEON X1300 (M52 714A) found.

Possibly related is Bug #68075, which talks about a similar card
producing "unknown video card" with lspci.

** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
