I'm still getting the problem, though I think it's happening less often than before.
Most GTK+ things are redrawing fine now with the exception of Firefox and webkit loading images (sometimes the image loads as black until I either scroll it off the page and back on again, or force a whole-screen refresh using Compiz' desktop cube effect) I'm still getting a lot of issues with Qt apps - the most notable being Amarok. It's easily reproducable here by selecting a menu and skimming over all the entries.
