Hi Colin The extra pop-up would help because: 1. the installer is doing something subtly different than I asked it to do (i.e. silently checking the format checkbox) 2. the final confirmation is two steps after the event and by default I have to scroll to see the full list of partitions to be formatted This is definitely a bit of an edge case but the silent checking of the format box caught me out. I have no doubt that if I'd been prompted with a dialogue warning me I was potentially about to lose data, I'd have realised what was going on and been able to fix without resorting to backups
