Public bug reported:

After spending a day and night downloading the updates for Hardy to Intrepid, a 
bunch of programs still fail to install.
One of the things that cause's me grief is that I have to launch a bunch of 
programs manually at startup because they don't when there supposed to. Also, 
my system sometimes freezes, with no warning.

According to Apt, the programs it can't install (becuase it can't configure the 
packages):
