Here's an update. I've been doing updates right along and it hasn't started working.
However, after an update yesterday (15+ packages), I couldn't boot to X. So I rebooted and from GRUB I choose the "safe mode", I forget what it's called.... recovery? Anyway, I got to an ASCII based Recovery Menu. Never saw it before, thought it was a nice touch. So I ran FSCK, that was cool. Then I choose the option Fix X.ORG. It did somethings and then I rebooted. NOW.... I have 2 network managers. I don't know if the "Fix X.ORG" has anything to do with it, but now I have 2. It could have been the update or the fix. I don't know. I digress.... so the one works and the other doesn't. The one that works says it's NetworkManager Applet 0.7.0. That works, it connects. It doesn't save my wireless passphrase, so that's annoying... but at least it connects. The other one, is KNetwork Manager. KNetwork Manager kinda shows I'm connected, it's showing the progress bar is 95% across, but not all the way, and the wireless strength its only about half. Where as Network Manager Applet shows connected and has a full 4 bars for connection quality. Which is right, the wireless access point is about 30 feet away and it's has high gain antennas. So, in conclustion. I now have 2 wireless network managers and wireless works. Can I just get rid of the other one or is there one that's going to be the "official" Kubuntu wireless manager? -- ipw2200 driver for Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG fails to load firmware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261886 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
