Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
I have a Gigabyte GA-EG45M-DS2H (i.e. G45 graphics chip) and something about the Intel xorg driver is getting the chip very confused. The board is connected to a Sony bravia KDL-40V3000 TV via HDMI (but the same problem exists when using the DVI port and a DVI->HDMI cable) I see very frequent dropouts of the signal. The screen blanks briefly and comes back, with the TV then displaying the name of the input (it happens to be AV4) and the resolution (1080p). Once this has happened, rebooting shows the problem persisting in the BIOS. This originally made me think the problem was in hardware. However, booting Windows XP with the appropriate Intel drivers there produces a rock solid picture that never produces this resync. It's only when Windows switches into its full graphical environment that it happens, which suggests that their driver is programming the chip in a more correct way. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Intrepid] Screen flicker/resync on X4000HD https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275152 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
