tikky : In case you didn't test the drive with dell diagnostic utility
or with any other utility, you should definitively try this first. The
fact that your computer is brand new does not mean that the drive is
free from any defect. If your drives pass the dell diagnostic tests, can
you go in the BIOS options of your computer, change controller mode from
"IDE" to "RAID" and try to boot ubuntu again to see if it fixes the
