Oliver, are you talking about a 2.6.26 or a 2.6.27 kernel? With the recent update to the 2.6.27 kernel the ath5k drivers works for me (didn't work on 2.6.26) and should work for most cards AFAIK. (Not including lspci output or anything since I don't think that's particularly relevant right now).
