I am a newbie so please be easy on me, I have exact same problem. We have unsecured hotspot at my work, I have username and password for the hotspot login page too but my problem is, it doesn't even connect and obtain IP address.
Works fine with my home, secured network. I uninstalled network-manager, tried it with WICD and it was doing exact same thing. So I finally reinstalled Network Manager. If I boot to my Vista OS, I am able to connect to Unsecured network. Please can someone address this issue? If you need some logs file please let me know what you need and I will provide as much details as you need. Thanks I am using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy on my Dell Inspiron 1720 machine. -- Unable to connect to unsecured/unencrypted wireless networks (bcm43xx-based chips only?) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/73759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
