Hi, I disagree that mysql-server should be a dependency, it's possible to run mtop against a remote mysql server.
I believe the correct fix should be to handle the mysql server not being available. I have linked the Debian bug report about this issue. I'm un-subscribing the sponsors team as I don't believe we want the current solution in the archive. Please re-subscribe them if you have a different fix, or you disagree.
